Urban Science Corps
The Urban Science Corps recruits and mobilizes Science Champions, science and engineering professionals who agree to mentor urban youth. The undergraduate and high school students who train to become science-savvy Inquiry Coaches take part in real world science research projects, utilizing mobile field science labs that bring the world of scientific inquiry into the urban community. The Inquiry Coaches form Research Squads with younger urban youth and guide them through Inquiry Expeditions at after school programs, recreation centers, community centers, museums, and science centers. Drawn from local schools and colleges, Inquiry Coaches are trained as participatory action researchers and catalysts to develop creativity and talent among urban youth.

NASA Undergraduate Student Research Projects
The NASA Undergraduate Student Research Project, or USRP, offers internship opportunities for undergraduate science and engineering students at all 10 NASA centers and additional partner facilities. These mentor-guided internships provide hands-on, real-life, career-related experiences that challenge, inspire, and provide practical application that complements and expands upon students' academic education.
NASA Ames Academy for Space Exploration
Ten-week immersive research internship for undergraduate junior, senior and first-year graduate students. The Ames Academy is a diverse summer program that focuses on leadership and teamwork with group activities and individual projects on current NASA missions in advanced science and engineering.
Jet Propulsion Laboratory's SpaceSHIP
(Summer High School Internship Program)
The Jet Propulsion Laboratory Summer High School Internship Program is an eight-week internship for high school students, (16+) who have demonstrated a strong interest in and aptitude for science, technology, engineering and/or math. Students are provided an opportunity to do introductory research, work in a technical environment, and expand their computer skills under the guidance of NASA's science, engineering, and technical professionals.
INSPIRE
(Interdisciplinary National Science Program Incorporating Research and Education Experience) - Grades 9-12
A two-week collegiate experience at participating college or university for 10th graders (rising 11th grade student). An eight-week paid internship at a center for 11th graders (rising 12th grade student). All transportation, meals, lodging, and chaperones are provided. Students will participate in structured after work and weekend educational and cultural activities. An 8-week paid internship at a center after high school graduation for 12th graders (rising college freshmen)
Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships
Caltech's Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships program introduces students to research under the guidance of seasoned research mentors at Caltech and Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Students experience the process of research as a creative intellectual activity.

Lunar and Planetary Institute (LPI)
LPI invites undergraduates with at least 50 semester hours of credit to experience cutting-edge research in the lunar and planetary sciences. As a summer intern, you will work one-on-one with a scientist at the LPI or at NASA Johnson Space Center on a research project of current interest in lunar and planetary science.
National Science Foundation (NSF)
NSF funds research opportunities for undergraduate students through its Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Sites program. An REU Site consists of undergraduates who work in the research programs of the host institution. Each student is associated with a specific research project, where they work with faculty and researchers. Students are granted stipends and, in many cases, assistance with housing and travel.
NASA Planetary Biology Internship Program
The aim of the Planetary Biology Internship Program is to provide opportunities for graduate students to take part in planetary biology research at NASA centers and universities. The pursuit of such studies is expected to broaden the base of this new science by encouraging people in many different fields to take part. Students accepted in the PBI program will be expected to carry out research with a NASA-sponsored investigator for eight weeks usually during the summer months. Typical programs in which interns may become involved include: global ecology and remote sensing; microbial ecology and bio-mineralization; advanced life support; origin and early evolution of life.
NASA Graduate Student Researchers Program
Arizona State University School of Earth and Space Exploration
A NASA fellowship program for graduate study leading to masters or doctoral degrees in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics related to NASA research and development.
